Web Design

The internet has become a valuable resource for most businesses. It can take many forms: Business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce, information dissemination, market research, competitive research, internal and external communications, and many others. It is becoming more and more important for growing, aggressive businesses to have a web site to stay competitive.

Some businesses need only a simple web presence describing their business "to the world," much like an advertisement in the yellow pages. Many retail businesses need a complete e-commerce site including a catalog, a way to accept orders, and payments processing. Other businesses might use their web site to give their customers ready access to product literature and customer service. Still others maintain secure web sites as a way to facilitate communications and information dissemination within their sales force and among departments.

The design of each web site is different because each business' needs are different. Because of this, Technology Lighthouse uses a web design process that includes five discrete phases:

  1. We listen to you! We recognize that you know your business. You know what's needed for it to be successful. We will ask questions and make suggestions to help us understand and make the web site more effective.
  2. The design phase of the web site includes roughing out of the site's theme and content. We include the items that are important to your business. We don't include things you don't need. We'll be working closely with you during the design phase to ensure the design meets your expectations.
  3. Once you've approved the design, we'll begin construction of your web site according to the project guidelines. You will have an opportunity to review the site's progress as milestones are reached. Modifications can be made as appropriate.
  4. Once construction is complete and approved, your web site will be uploaded to a test server for final proofing. You can then run through the live site and make any final modifications necessary before making it public. Once you give final approval, the site will be uploaded to your public site and become available to your customers.
  5. As your web site starts attracting traffic you will find that your needs will evolve and upadting the web site may be advantageous. We will help you take advantage of new opportunities and technologies to improve your customer's web experience.
